? Consumer confidence data better than forecast in December

Inflation expectations in December fell to the lowest level since September 2021 mainly thanks to lower gas prices.

Specifically, the consumer confidence index released by the Conference Board jumped from 101.4 points in November to 108.3 points in December, much higher than the forecast of 100.5 points. This is also the highest score since April.

Closing yesterday’s trading session:

– Dow Jones increased 526.74 points (equivalent to 1.6%) to 33,376.48 points.
– The S&P 500 added 1.49% to 3,878.44 points.
– Nasdaq Composite advanced 1.54% to 10,709.37 points.
