Inflation in the US cools down


On December 13, the US Department of Labor said that the consumer price index (CPI) in November increased by 0.1% compared to the previous month and increased by 7.1% over the same period. This is down from forecasts of a 0.3% increase month-on-month and 7.3% year-on-year.

Excluding food and energy prices, core CPI increased by 0.2% MoM and 6% YoY, while forecast at 0.3% and 6.1% respectively.
